The Devils of Loudun are an epic tech death/symphonic death metal band from Seattle. Their music is powerful and filled with memorable riffs that stick in your head and make you headbang. Stellar songwriting mixed with a pure death metal aggression makes for beautiful music that will be adored by many a metalhead. I particularly enjoy the manic riffage and epic keyboard work on the track Beyond the Sanctum. Lyrically this album is pretty triumphant with lines like "In emptiness we believe in a story untold, unforeseen in our contempt we can not see through falsities beyond the prophecy". I really like the raw musical skill that is on display here and I think that these guys deserve a lot more success than what they currently have. Epic songs with beautiful compositions such as these merit true heavy metal glory and I hope one day they find it.
